Interesting numbers

  • 25 min × 365 ≈ 152 hours per year.

  • Toilet time spent on a phone can inflate this average.

  • The number is not a productivity promise, just accumulated time.

What this metric tells you

Toilet time is time everyone spends but nobody puts on a CV. Ever Since Birth assumes 25 minutes of total daily visits. That may mix sitting, waiting, and phone scrolling. The model does not split them.

25 minutes × 365 ≈ 152 hours per year. Over thirty years, more than 4,500 hours. That equals several months of full-time work. The comparison exists not to exaggerate, but to break the invisibility of the time.

In v1 there is no country split. Confidence is medium. The mini calculator prints minutes once. The formatter uses integers for large numbers.

This page does not stretch the joke. It keeps the formula open. Seconds lived times 25 divided by 86,400. The result is in minutes. To convert to hours, divide by 60. The card does not do that for you.

The home page shows this card in the What I've Output group. The share link can include your birth date; calculation runs in the browser.

Deep dive

25 minutes is a rough daily total for bathroom visits; phone scrolling and reading are not split out. This is not a productivity lecture—it shows invisible time adding up.

About 152 hours per year, thousands over a decade. The card shows minutes; divide by 60 if you want hours. Country selection does not change this metric.

How is time on the toilet calculated?

Core formula

result = seconds lived × (daily rate ÷ 86,400)

86,400 is seconds in one day. The daily rate is divided by that to get a per-second pace; multiplied by seconds since birth it yields total accumulation.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Build the second axis

Total seconds from birth date to today.

  2. 02

    Apply the 25 min/day rate

Daily duration in minutes is converted to seconds for accumulation.

  3. 03

    Add habit survey

Frequency and routine preferences roughly change daily minutes.
